The Metropolitan Region of Manaus (RMM) (in Portuguese Região Metropolitana de Manaus), also known as Grande Manaus, brings together 13 municipalities of the State of Amazonas in a modest conurbation process. It is the largest metropolitan area in the Northern Region of Brazil with 2.6 million inhabitants (IBGE / 2018) and its gross domestic product (GDP) in 2015 amounted to approximately 73.3 million reais, of which approximately 90 % belong to the city of Manaus.

The RMM is the political, financial, commercial, educational and cultural center of Amazonas, representing around 84% of the economy and 64 %% of the population of the state.

The Greater Manaus is also the 11th largest urban agglomeration of Brazil.
